Mini dedicatorias - Mini album

Anoche estuvimos unas cuantas de charleta en Livestream. Hicimos transferencias en sticky back canvas y decoramos un pequeño album de dedicatorias para mi madre. Nos reimos mucho y aprendimos cómo hacer "salsa de caracoles" (perdón, gesso casero) de la mano de Dania. Un rato muy divertido y un resultado que me gusta mucho. ¿Y a tí?

I made this mini album yesterday while online with some friends through Livestream. I enjoyed this time so much, chatting with friends and creating some art. I like how it turned out. And you?

Proyecto Octubre Kits de Somni

Cuando Mireia me propuso hacer el proyecto de KdS con material de Graphic 45, 7Gypsies y Tim Holtz, no pude decir que no.

El kit es totalmente apetecible y aprovechable 100%. Precioso.

En el tuto he incluido unas cuantas técnicas, reciclaje y algún truco e ideas para hacer un proyecto muy personal.

50 años

Cuando publique este artículo estaremos celebrando el 50 aniversario de boda de mis suegros.
Ahí es nada. Toda una vida juntos. 4 hijos, 4 nietos y muchos momentos para recordar.
Hemos preparado una presentación con todos esos momentos compartidos. Los niños han hecho unos dibujos y una poesía para los abuelos y han preparado una gymkhana para los más pequeños.

At the time this article is posted, I'll be celebrating my parents in law 50th anniversary.
A whole life together and lots of moments to remember.
We prepared a presentation with all those shared moments.
The kids made some drawings, a poem, and they prepared a gymkhana for the little ones.

Created by Hand Challenge - Vintage ATC

First time also in this challenge - Created by Hand. This week the theme is vintage. I made an ATC with a collage background. The papers I used are french and specially made for decoupage. The woman image is from Graphic 45. This ATC is my new year's card for someone I love. My wish is that she has the best year ever this 2010.

Un nuevo desafío de Created by Hand. Para esta ATC he usado papeles de decoupage que compré en Matiz. Por cierto, la cola que vendían las francesas es estupenda. La imagen es de Graphic 45 y el troquel... se lo copié a Ana Manzana, que me dió envidia... Esta es mi tarjeta de felicitación de año nuevo para alguien que se merece un año muy especial.

Theme Thursday - Vintage

Esta es la primera vez que participo en Theme Thursday. Y lo hago con una ATC de Navidad que ya está camino de su nuevo destino. El tema es Vintage. El papel de fondo, el botón y el copo de fieltro son de Making Memories. Un poco de distress, glimmer mist, cosido y un trocito de bramante le dan un toque antiguo que me encanta. Espero que le guste también a quien la reciba :)

This is my first time at Theme Thursday. Theme this week is Vintage, and this is my Xmas ATC. Paper, button and snowflake are from Making Memories. Distress ink, glimmer mist, sewing and a bit of twine give it a different touch that I like. Hope you like it as well. Thanks for stopping by.

Paper casting

Estos días he estado hablando con unas amigas de técnicas con el papel higiénico. Como la de la transferencia que hice en este lienzo.

I've been chatting with some friends about different techniques with toilete paper. If you remember, I posted this canvas where I transferred an image stamped on toilete papel.

Recordé los tiempos del cole cuando hacíamos moldes con papel higiénico empapado en cola y agua (como en Art Attack) y he querido probarlo otra vez con mis nuevos sellos de ATCs de Invoke.

That reminded me when I crafted at school and I tried paper casting with molds, as seen on Art Attack :). I tried again with my new ATC background stamps from Invoke.

Os dejo una serie de fotos del proceso.
Simplemente se empapan en agua (o en agua y cola a partes iguales para que quede más consistente) unas 8-10 capas de papel higiénico.

You can see the process below.
Only soak 8-10 layers of toilete paper with water (or water and pva glue 50% to a sturdy finish)


Se escurre bien sobre plano y lo ponemos sobre el sello marcando bien toda la textura.

Drain the water on a flat surface and put the papers on your stamp, pressing over the texture to accentuate the details.

Dejamos secar toda la noche y listo para pintar y decorar a nuestro gusto

Fibras Angelina / Angelina fibers

A estas alturas, que me gusta probar todo lo que encuentro, no es ningún secreto. La última adquisición son estas fibras angelina. Son unas fibras termofusibles, de manera que se compactan al aplicarles calor con una plancha. Tienen unos tonos irisados preciosos y se utilizan para todo tipo de manualidades. Como apliques en fieltro quedan de cine.

You know how much I love to try as much as I can. This time, the turns is for angelina fibers. They are heat bondable fibers that have many applications not only on paper, but also in any kind of crafts.

En esta ATC he utilizado las fibras en el hueco del corazón. La imagen está impresa en sticky canvas y el fondo es un collage de papeles con gesso y tintas distress.

Vuelta al cole / Back to school

El comienzo de curso está a la vuelta de la esquina y yo estoy deseando volver a la rutina. Hoy, buscando fotos del curso pasado, he dado con una foto antigua de mi madre delante del mapa de España de los años 40 (Valencia era ¿Valencia del Cid?). La foto está muy DETEriorada (como Ana y yo según mi hija jajajaja) y aún la he envejecido más con Photoshop, lija y tinta distress. El básico lleva maya mist y glimmer mist. Los papeles son de 7 gypsies y de Rusty Pickle. El brad de la esquina de making memories y el sello de Hero Arts. La pizarrita es un hallazgo de Casa y los encajes son retales de la hermana de mi suegra (aquí todo el mundo aporta algo) Espero que os guste y pilléis con ánimo la vuelta al cole :) Gracias por la visita.

I've just found this picture of my mother in her school years, around 1943. The image is so damaged and I aged it more with Photoshop, sand paper and distress inks. The kraft paper is sprayed with maya mist and glimmer mist. Papers are from 7 gypsies and Rusty pickle. Brad from making memories and the stamp from Hero arts. The chalkboard is a finding in a dollar store and the laces are made by my mother in law's sister. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Giggle - ATC

Esta ATC aún no tiene título, porque pienso incorporarla a una página 30x30.
He retocado una foto de mi hija cuando tenía unos meses, virándola a sepia y coloreándole los mofletes.
La base es un cartón corrugado con papel de seda negro y pintado con pintura acrílica dorada.
Lleva una transparencia de 7 gypsies y una de mis mariposas. Me encanta la sombra que dejan las alas.

I haven't titled this ATC yet. It will be part of a 12x12 layout.
I retouched the picture of my daughter. I turned it to sepia tone and coloured the cheeks
I used a corrugated cardstock for the base and black tissue paper painted with gold acrylics.
I put a 7 gypsies transparency over it and one of my butterflies. I love the shadows of the wings.

Juntos - Together

Otro trabajo vintage para el desafío de Bámbola.
Además, este mes, Sarah nos propone utilizar encaje y cinta en nuestros trabajos.
Esta es mi aportación.
La foto en color es una de las últimas que tengo de mis padres juntos, antes de que mi padre enfermara. Es de un viaje que hicieron a Noruega y sé que mi madre tiene un cariño especial a esos recuerdos. Así que esta página es para ella. Un poco tarde para el día de la madre, pero todos los santos tienen octava, no?
La base es una cartulina kraft.
Lleva una máscara de Tim Holtz hecha con maya mist rojo y glimmer mist “sunflower”
La cinta amarilla es de making memories. La flor grande de Heidi Swapp. Para el tag, he utilizado una diapositiva alterada con papel de seda negro y pintura acrílica dorada. La foto pequeña es de mis padres cuando eran novios. El trozo del papel de fondo es de Laura Ashley. He estampado un sello de música de Stampendous y después de “embossearlo” lo he enrollado y atado con un cordel de cáñamo, junto a una llave de diario. Un poco de encaje y una cinta de organza acaban de decorar el tag.
La foto grande está lijada en los bordes, que he tintado con distress ink. En las esquinas lleva un sello, creo que de Prima.
Para terminar, una mariposa impresa en una transparencia y un ticket de Tim Holtz, con un rub-on de Impress-ons y otro de 7gypsies.

This month the challenge at Inkurable Stampers is to use lace and ribbon.
This is my take.
The main picture is one of the latest of my parents together, before my father passed away. It was taken in a trip to Norge and I know my mother has such beautiful and great memories of it. So this framed layout is for her.
The base is a kraft cardstock.
I masked a Tim Holtz’s mask with maya mist and glimmer mist. The yellow ribbon is from making memories. The big flower, from Heidi Swapp.
To make the tag, I used a slide frame that I altered with black “silk paper” and gold acrylic paint. The little picture is dated 1961 when my parents were engaged. The scrap of paper on the background is from Laura Ashley.
I stamped and embossed a music score stamp from Stampendous. I rolled it up and tied with a little journal key. A piece of lace and an organza ribbon finish the tag.
The coloured picture has the edges sanded and distress inked. I stamped a corner stamp from Prima in black stazon.
To finish the layout, a “hand made” transparent butterfly and a Tim Holtz’s ticket with 2 rub-ons, Love from Impress-ons and the love definition from 7gypsies.

Como cantan en Peter Pan en la versión traducida del año de la tana...

Volarás, volarás, volarás...

Estoy descubriendo que las diapositivas dan bastante juego.

En esta ATC he utilizado una imagen con motivos japoneses, que he "esmaltado" con UTEE

La base de la tarjeta es un papel de pared con un dibujo adamascado. Lo he cubierto con pintura dorada y lo he "glimmermisteado", como dice la sita Ana.

La mariposa es una transparencia y está sobre un trocito de papel mulberry. (Ana, aquí se aprecia mejor el papel, hay muchos tipos, pero te haces una idea)

I enameled a japanese picture using some layers of UTEE

The base is a piece of wall paper with an embossed damask image. I covered it all with gold acrylic paint and added glimmer mist

the butterfly is printed out on a transparency and I put it over a piece of mulberry paper.

Life ATC - Tutorial

He comprado recientemente el libro Artists' Journals and Sketchbooks, de Lynne Perrella y, entre las cosas interesantísimas que trae, vienen unas cuantas ideas de diapositivas alteradas.
Yo he hecho una primera prueba en esta ATC, que espero os guste.

Os dejo el paso a paso.

Materiales:
Diapositiva (con película incluida) – Slide, include the film
Servilleta de papel – Tissue paper or napkin
Cola blanca – Mod podge or similar
Pintura acrílica – acrylic paints
Imagen del tamaño de la película – film sized image
Papel mulberry – mulberry paper
Llave de Tim Holtz o cualquier otro detalle de adorno. Tim Holtz’s word keys or other embellishment.
Sello de fondo. Background stamp
Polvos de embossing y versamark. Embossing powders and versamark

Sacamos la película de la diapositiva. Take the film off the slide frame

Encolamos el marco con una mezcla de cola blanca y pintura y pegamos un trozo de una de las capas de la servilleta cubriéndolo todo. Dejamos secar.
Glue the frame with a mixture of Mod Podge and paint. Put a layer of a napkin over it and continue glueing and painting over. Let it dry.

Mientras se seca, pegamos la foto a la película, dejando los agujeros de los lados visibles.
Glue the image over the film strip, letting the holes uncovered.

En una cartulina negra de base, estampamos nuestro sello en versamark y lo ponemos de relieve con los polvos de embossing transparentes.

Stamp the background over a black cardstock and emboss it with clear powders.

Una vez seco y con la técnica de "embossing resist", pintamos con acrílica dorada sobre el sello. Antes de que seque del todo, le pasamos una servilleta de papel o un trapo un poco húmedo (sólo un poco) sobre el dibujo, para que deje ver el negro de base.
Using the embossing resist technique, paint over the whole card. Before it dries, rub smoothly over it with a damp piece of paper or cloth, so the image reveals the black background.

Montamos la película con la foto sobre el marco de la diapositiva.

Mount the film strip over the slide frame

Como base de la diapositiva utilizamos un trozo de papel mulberry rasgado con los dedos.

Tear a piece of mulberry paper and glue it to the cardstock.

Montamos encima la imagen y adornamos con una llave de Tim Holtz cortesía de Bámbola :)
