Ellis Island - Gateway to America

Fue emocionante entrar en la gran sala del edificio principal de la Isla de Ellis, donde tantos y tantos inmigrantes entraban con la esperanza de encontrar en América, la libertad.

Ver los libros de registros con los datos "de verdad" de quienes pasaron por allí: italianos, polacos, irlandeses, rusos..., después de haber leído tantos libros y tantas historias sobre ellos, hace que la visita sea especial.

It was so emotional entering the big room at Ellis Island, where so many inmigrants came in with the hope of Liberty

Seeing the "List or Manifest of Alien Passengers" with real names (italians, polish, irish, russian..) after reading so many books and stories about them, make the visit so special.

Quizá llevarnos la peli "el día de mañana" en el ipad para comparar las escenas del tsunami entrando en NYC y cuando los protagonistas corren a refugiarse en la biblioteca pública, sí sea algo friki, no??

If you know us, you could think our family is a bit freak.. really?

Well, maybe bring the film "the day after tomorrow" uploaded in the ipad and compare the tsunami scenes at the NYC public library is a bit freak, nerd, weird..? You name it. We had fun :)
