Acrylic pouring - Dip technique

Si sois aficionados a los vertidos acrílicos, os encontraréis al final de una sesión con una mesa llena de restos de pintura  húmeda. 

No hay por qué desperdiciar esa pintura. Sólo tienes que coger una silueta de madera, un tag de cartón duro, una pieza de azulejo... y posarlo sobre esos restos de pintura para conseguir un efecto marmoleado como el de mi caballito de mar de TodoStencil

If you are a fan of acrylic pouring, you will find, at the end of a pouring session, with a mess in your table. Do not waste it. Grab a wooden silhouette, a cardboard tag... whatever and dip it into the wet paint and lift it up. You will have a marble look on it.

Si dejamos secar la pintura sobre una superficie no porosa, podremos levantarla como si fuera una piel y hacer pequeños objetos de bisutería.

If you let the leftovers to dry on a non pourous surface, you will have a skin to cut and make little pieces of jewelry

Pouring Night - Acrylic pouring workshop

Aunque llevo algo más de año y  medio experimentando con vertidos acrílicos, hasta ahora no me sentía lo suficientemente confiada como para dar un taller.  Ahora tengo los conocimientos y la experiencia suficiente como para enseñaros a jugar y disfrutar de esta manera tan de moda de pintar con acrílicos.

I've been experimenting with acrylic pouring for over a year and a half. But, until now, I haven't feel confident to teach a workshop about it. Now, I have the knowledge and experience to teach you how to play and get the most of this new acrylic technique.

El pasado día 22 de junio, impartí un taller de iniciación al pouring, en Espacio A13, en el que aprendimos 4 técnicas diferentes de vertidos y además celebramos la noche de San Juan con una queimada gallega. Todo ello patrocinado por pinturas La Pajarita, Jeco Bellas Artes y Todo Stencil

Last june, I taught a workshop on acrylic pouring 101 at Espacio A13, in which we learnt 4 different techniques and we celebrated the summer solstice with a "Queimada". It was a blast! The workshop was sponsored by La Pajarita, Jeco Bellas Artes and Todo Stencil

Marbling - Marmoleado

Después de mucho probar, he dado con unas pinturas consistentes y fáciles de usar para marmoleado con agua.

Mi problema, siempre era la base, que si gelatina, que si agar-agar, que si aceite, que si engrudo de empapelar, y como no tenía óleos, ni me los iba a comprar, las tintas que usaba acrílicas, se disolvían en el agua o se iban al fondo. Incluso el esmalte de uñas no funcionaba.

Las que he probado hoy son de Marabú, con una peste a disolvente que echa para atrás (mejor abre la ventana), pero es lo que tiene. Son muy oleosas y aguantan en la superficie.

Valen para todo tipo de superficies, porosas o no y pringan un rato :)

Estas son las pruebas que he estado haciendo hoy con David. Nos lo hemos pasado en grande.

After a long research... I finally found a good an easy to use marbling paint.

The main problem for me has been always the base for the paint: jelly, agar-agar, oil, the paste use for wallpapers, and since I do not own oil paints -and I'm not going to buy them- the acrylics inks I used, dropped to the bottom of the bowl. Even the nail polish didn't work for me.

What I used today are the marbling paints by Marabú. They smell too much of solvent, so be careful and use  them in a well ventilated area. They are very oily and sticky.

The paint is good for any kind of surface, porous or non porous.

These are the testings I've been doing with David. We both had a good time together.

Ni tengo el espesante necesario ni las pinturas ni herramientas adecuadas, pero aun así, me gusta el resultado y al enano ni os cuento... la mesa de la cocina quedó cual graffiti callejero.

I didn't have the right thicker, nor the right paints, but despite all, I love the result. And David enjoyed it a lot... Our kitchen table ended... well, like a street graffiti.
