The Mummy - Halloween treats

Esta tarde ha tocado crop con los niños. David llevará a la fiesta de Halloween unas chocolatinas "escalofriantes" Muy facilito y resultón para hacer con los niños. Una caja de cerillas forrada con cinta de carrocero, unos ojos móviles y saltones, una boca "terrorífica" y una chocolatina dentro. Listo. 17 momias en el caldero para repartir a sus compis del cole. Espero que os guste y os animéis a hacer manualidades con los niños.

This is an easy project to make with the kids. I helped David to do it. A matchbox covered with masking tape, a pair of googling eyes, a scary mouth and a chocolate inside. That's it. 17 sweet mummys in the cauldron for his pals. Hope you like it and thanks for the visit.

Paper casting

Estos días he estado hablando con unas amigas de técnicas con el papel higiénico. Como la de la transferencia que hice en este lienzo.

I've been chatting with some friends about different techniques with toilete paper. If you remember, I posted this canvas where I transferred an image stamped on toilete papel.

Recordé los tiempos del cole cuando hacíamos moldes con papel higiénico empapado en cola y agua (como en Art Attack) y he querido probarlo otra vez con mis nuevos sellos de ATCs de Invoke.

That reminded me when I crafted at school and I tried paper casting with molds, as seen on Art Attack :). I tried again with my new ATC background stamps from Invoke.

Os dejo una serie de fotos del proceso.
Simplemente se empapan en agua (o en agua y cola a partes iguales para que quede más consistente) unas 8-10 capas de papel higiénico.

You can see the process below.
Only soak 8-10 layers of toilete paper with water (or water and pva glue 50% to a sturdy finish)


Se escurre bien sobre plano y lo ponemos sobre el sello marcando bien toda la textura.

Drain the water on a flat surface and put the papers on your stamp, pressing over the texture to accentuate the details.

Dejamos secar toda la noche y listo para pintar y decorar a nuestro gusto

La primera tarjeta de Navidad 2009 / First 2009 Xmas Card

Con fibras angelina y entre capa y capa, unas cuantas lentejuelas.

Fibras Angelina / Angelina fibers

A estas alturas, que me gusta probar todo lo que encuentro, no es ningún secreto. La última adquisición son estas fibras angelina. Son unas fibras termofusibles, de manera que se compactan al aplicarles calor con una plancha. Tienen unos tonos irisados preciosos y se utilizan para todo tipo de manualidades. Como apliques en fieltro quedan de cine.

You know how much I love to try as much as I can. This time, the turns is for angelina fibers. They are heat bondable fibers that have many applications not only on paper, but also in any kind of crafts.

En esta ATC he utilizado las fibras en el hueco del corazón. La imagen está impresa en sticky canvas y el fondo es un collage de papeles con gesso y tintas distress.

Wizard colours / Todo es según el color del cristal con que se mira

Ayer tuve la oportunidad de probar una pintura para coche, que cambia de color según le da la luz. No pude resistirme a probarla con cartulina y cartón (temía que se deshiciera o algo parecido, pero de momento resiste).
Así que me traje un poquito de pintura para experimentar en casa con la brocha. Traerme la pistola y el compresor me pareció mucho. Me puse la máscara, y salí a la terraza. Acabé como si me hubiera tomado 4 cervezas, pero me lo pasé genial.
Estas cuatro fotos son de la misma cartulina pero tomadas desde distintos ángulos. Desde luego no se aprecia el cambio de color como en la realidad, pero el efecto es impresionante.

I got the opportunity to test the wizard colours for car refinishing. I wanted to try them out in cardstock and using a brush instead of the gun. So I put my mask on and went out to the "fresh air" ;) to test them.
These four pictures are took on the same painted cardstock, but they're taken from different angles.
The colour changes are more vivid IRL, but I can assure that the effect is stunning.


Y mientras pienso en qué puedo aplicar la pintura en cuestión, pues he hecho esta ATC con el texto de Campoamor "En este mundo traidor, nada es verdad ni es mentira, todo es según el color, del cristal con que se mira" :)
Espero que os guste y tengamos la ocasión de probarla juntas en una próxima crop :)

I can't wait to make an ATC from this, so this is what I came up with. The text is a poem from a very well know spanish poet (Ramón de Campoamor) and it says something like this: "In this treacherous world nothing is either truth or lie; everything depends on the color of the crystal that one looks through" (translation from Wikipedia ;))
