Second Floor

¿Qué he aprendido?

The theme of this challenge could be my step to the second floor from the begining, because I hardly use golden paint in my projects.

I had a bottle of "rich gold" and "old gold" metallic paints and it took me a while to open the lids..

I started with nothing in mind, so I paint with a coat of rich gold over a black cardstock and embossed it with the bigshot. Then I applied a coat of the darker golden paint and sanded the embossed areas. I thought the color behind would stand out a bit more than they did. The tag also became too matt, so I applied a coat of clear tar gel. Much better.

Then, I took it to the second, or well, third floor and added some golden embossing powders "ad libitum".

I found the result so interesting for an ATC background or, as I finally did, for a flower

What I learned on the process:

Use a foam sheet or a thicker cardstock for dry embossing. Mine cracked in some areas.
Use contrasting colors to make them pop up when sanding
I love the "layer over layer" concept. I think my tag could have hold even more layers.

And you, did you step to the second floor yet?
